Aries equips your testing facilities with a lighting solution for high-speed filming in crash tests, crash simulations and other dynamic test applications. This right lighting is one of the key elements of conducting a successful crash test.

We provide a turn-key solution, including the design of the lighting system suited to your needs as well as the installation in your facility.

Our LED lighting systems can be adopted to your existing facility, and they also come as an established component of crash facilities we design.

Automated Positioning System for LED Lighting

SYNC Lighting

SYNC Mode allows synchronizing the lights with the high speed cameras. This way the lights are turned on only when the camera shutter is open (usually less than 20% of the total time). This has many advantages over conventional, continuous lighting:

  • Extremely low heating, unlimited operation time.
  • Lower power consumption.
  • 200% boost mode, without the need for a 2 kW supply (peak power consumption is 2 kW, but average power consumption is still lower than 1 kW).
  • Setup can be done at low framerates (e.g. 100 fps). This way, operators can’t be harmed by the light (perceived as low power), but the result on camera looks the same.
  • When two cameras are facing each other, they can be cross-synced so that neither of them gets blinded by the lights on the opposite side.

Automated Positioning System for LED Lighting

Main advantages of an Automated Positioning System:

  • Motorized truss structure with multiple degrees of movement: X, Y & Z displacement and all rotations (based on your request)
  • Remote control through PC, able to memorize positions (this allows very easy, 1-click setup)
  • Flexibility

Advanced Lighting Simulation

ARIES uses advanced lighting software to determine the best distribution, and optimal number of luminaires for each application. This allows for the accurate prediction of the illumination level (lux) obtained at each point. A visual simulation is made of the environment to predict how the system will operate once it is installed.

IES 4438 LED Lamp

IES 4438 LED Lamp is a high intensity LED lamp for high speed filming in crash tests. It is compatible with automatic lighting systems and can be adapted for climatic chambers.
