Madrid, 14.07.2010.- Aries Ingeniería y Sistemas, a worldwide leader in supplying passive safety test systems, carried out the first 30º car to car crash test during the inauguration of the first laboratory with this capability in China. Over 60 accredited media members attended the event, which took place Saturday, 3rd of July.
The Spanish company has supplied Chery Automobile with a full scale crash test laboratory designed to evaluate complete vehicle and individual component behavior in the case of an accident, which is accomplished through real crash testing. This allows the real behavior of the complete vehicle and its restraint systems to be analyzed.
The laboratory designed by Aries Ingeniería y Sistemas is capable of testing two vehicles with different velocities and varying approach angles. The company uses sophisticated, state-of-the-art propulsion technology based on AC electrical motors and two lasers which maintains complete control over the vehicle´s position. This advanced control system guarantees extremely high precision in both velocity and the vehicle impact point (less than 25 mm in a 90º crash test).
The rapid growth of the Asian automotive industry in recent years has brought leading companies, such as Aries Ingeniería y Sistemas, to invest in the Chinese market and offer solutions to improve vehicle security. As the leading company in this market, Aries Ingeniería y Sistemas has become the number one manufacture of car to car crash test facilities. Currently, the company is involved in the development and supply of a multitude of passive safety test systems.
Aries Ingeniería y Sistemas, with an office in Shanghai, is already working for other Chinese automakers, such as BYD, GWM, CHERY. In addition, the prestigious Japanese company, HONDA, has chosen Aries Ingeniería y Sistemas to provide them with a crash test facility.
Thanks to these investments in safety, Chinese automakers hope to penetrate the most demanding markets and compete with the large automakers on a worldwide level.
