Aries Ingeniería y Sistemas presents Multimotion, its latest high-speed camera

  • The system designed by Aries Ingeniería y Sistemas is capable of reaching frame rates of up to 1,000,000 images per second, depending on the camera’s configuration.

  • Multimotion features innovative applications for ballistic standardization, detonations, impact tests and process optimization.

Madrid, April 28th, 2010.- Aries Ingeniería y Sistemas has launched its latest high-speed camera, Multimotion, to the market.  Designed exclusively by the Spanish engineering company, Multimotion is capable of reaching frame rates of up to 1,000,000 images per second.  The modular system adapts to the specific needs of each client with a possible configuration of four cameras, which multiplies the frame rate of the image.  The system features two modes: ultraspeed (with rates up to 1,000,000 images per second) and panoramic (with a resolution up to 4,200 x 1,000 pixels)*.

Multimotion was created using a system compatible with various camera manufacturers, allowing it to synchronize with external devices and transfer data via Ethernet.  The camera created by Aries Ingeniería y Sistemas is designed for test laboratory use, ballistic standardization (internal, transition, external, terminal), ammunition and armament certification, and ballistic effects.

Impact tests, which test the resistance of armor (vests, helmets, vehicles, etc.), recoil analysis, or even passive safety tests are examples of additional uses of Multimotion.  The camera’s design demonstrates the Spanish company’s commitment to Research and Development (R+D), considering it invests over 10% of their annual profits toward R+D.

Aries Ingeniería y Sistemas’ R+D activity strives to provide state-of-the-art solutions to its current market niches as well as to new markets that it plans to enter.  In addition, Aries Ingeniería y Sistemas involves partners and specialists who contribute innovative thinking and technology to the R+D projects.  The Public Research Organizations that collaborate with Aries Ingeniería y Sistemas include la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Escuela Técnica Superior Ingenieros Aeronáuticos, la Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales, etc.), la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, el Hospital de Parapléjicos de Toledo, la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and the Instituto Cajal, among others.

Because of its commitment to continuous technological innovation, Aries Ingeniería y Sistemas has references in over 30 countries.  Aries Ingeniería y Sistemas is active in complicated markets, such as the United States and China, where renewable energy and passive safety test systems are developed.
